PRIMARY ROLE:

The Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant plays a crucial role in implementing treatment plans as directed by a licensed Physical Therapist. This position operates under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Rehabilitation Services and adheres to established policies and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer therapeutic exercises and activities, including gait training, wound care, and manual therapy techniques.
  • Utilize various modalities during therapy sessions, such as heat/cold treatments, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation, in accordance with professional standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all patient care and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and assess patient responses to treatment, making adjustments as necessary in collaboration with the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate treatment records as per departmental guidelines.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and teamwork to meet patient and departmental needs.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and identify personal educational needs.
  • Assist in maintaining treatment areas, ensuring cleanliness and proper equipment functionality.
  • Participate in administrative tasks such as scheduling and record-keeping as required.
  • Exhibit professionalism through initiative, accountability, and a commitment to quality care.
  • Adhere to all hospital and departmental policies, including safety and infection control standards.
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
