Visual Development Specialist

AEG is seeking a highly skilled Optometric Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will work one-on-one with patients in a professional setting to help them achieve their full potential through Vision Therapy.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and Implement Treatment Plans: Plan and organize patient sessions in accordance with exam findings and specific optometric and patient goals.
- Conduct Therapy Sessions: Conduct therapy sessions that are meaningful and produce desirable results.
- Assign Homework Exercises: Assign homework exercises that complement therapy sessions.
- Evaluate Patient Progress: Conduct and score perceptual testing evaluations to determine if a patient would benefit from Vision Therapy sessions.
- Chart and Document Patient Information: Complete proper paperwork to ensure charting is in compliance with insurance regulations.
- Communicate with Patients and Families: Provide patients and their families with a complete understanding of exam findings, session outcomes, and homework expectations.
- Maintain a Clean and Organized Workspace: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the therapy and testing rooms, including making copies and supplies of home materials.
- Support the Clinical Team: Assist the doctors with letters to parents, schools, and other professionals after examinations, including vision and learning letters and re-evaluation letters.
- Stay Current with Industry Developments: Participate in workshops to educate patients, families, and other professionals about the impact of functional vision problems on learning.
- Maintain Certification: Maintain certification by continuing education.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Team: Communicate with doctors and other professionals about patient progress.
- Assist with Scheduling: Assist with scheduling and rescheduling of therapy appointments.
- Continuously Improve Patient Care: Consistently maintain a level of creativity and growth to ensure patients receive a high level of care.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Optical Industry Experience Preferred
