Job Summary

SR COMPANIES LLC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Activities to join our team. As a key member of our community, you will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging programs and activities that enhance the lives of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a monthly activity calendar that meets the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, families, and staff, demonstrating empathy, kindness, and respect.
  • Coordinate special events and activities that promote socialization, entertainment, and education.
  • Transport and supervise residents on outings, shopping trips, and doctor's visits, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to support community programs and activities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all residents, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to staff to meet established performance standards and expectations related to life enrichment programming and activities.
  • Act as facilitator and take minutes at resident council meetings, ensuring effective communication and resolution of concerns.
  • Follow up on concerns voiced or discussed at resident council meetings, providing resolution and reports/documents of resolution at the next meeting.
  • Observe and report to supervisor daily all changes in residents' health and emotional condition, ensuring timely intervention and support.
  • Demonstrate the ability to set and manage priorities, responding promptly and courteously to residents' requests for assistance.
  • Communicate effectively in a language that each resident is capable of understanding, promoting inclusivity and respect.
  • Observe and report safety hazards immediately to supervisor, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all.
  • Practice good body mechanics and safe working habits, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Know, understand, and follow established policy and procedures in emergency situations, ensuring prompt and effective response.
  • Considered essential personnel during emergencies and/or inclement weather, demonstrating commitment to the community's well-being.
  • Work as a team player with other associates and management in accomplishing work assignments, promoting collaboration and teamwork.
  • Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies, and procedures, adhering to established standards and expectations.
  • Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude with residents, families, visitors, associates, and management, promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity.
  • Comply with attendance and call-off policy, ensuring timely and regular attendance.
  • Attend and/or participate in trainings, in-service, and mandatory meetings, promoting ongoing learning and development.
  • Wear clean and appropriate dress per established dress code policy, adhering to established standards and expectations.
  • Refrain from discussing resident care issues with families and visitors, referring all inquiries to immediate supervisor.
  • Know, understand, and comply with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and respect for residents' personal information.
  • Assist in mentoring new employees, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development.
  • Take the initiative in work, seeking out additional information and offering solutions/suggestions, promoting innovation and improvement.
  • Take on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Serve and assist residents in the dining room at breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, promoting socialization and community building.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) when needed, promoting independence and well-being.
  • Perform all other reasonable duties as assigned or requested, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
