Job Title: Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program Director

Job Summary:

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program Director is a full-time core faculty member responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program's master plan of education. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program's curriculum design, including course descriptions, course requirements, and evaluation systems.

* Coordinate the development, implementation, and revision process for the program's curriculum design.

* Prepare and maintain the program budget within established parameters.

* Oversee the evaluation, maintenance, selection, and purchase of educational materials and equipment to meet the needs of the program.

* Collaborate with the Diagnostic Medical Sonography faculty to meet the needs of students and program assessment.

* Assist in the process of interviewing, selecting, and mentoring faculty.

* Interview, select, mentor, and evaluate adjunct faculty who teach courses within the program under the general supervision.

* Counsel and advise prospective and current students.

* Serve as a liaison between the program and affiliates/community stakeholders.

* Assist in reviewing affiliation agreements as needed.

* Prepare annual reports for the Dean, college representatives, and other agencies as needed.

* Pursue ongoing education in the discipline, instructional delivery, and management to maintain professional competency.

* Collaborate with faculty to create a positive learning environment.

* Coordinate and direct the procedures required to maintain program accreditation.

* Coordinate Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program Advisory Board meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree.

* Possess the appropriate credentials specific to one or more of the concentrations offered (Echocardiography, vascular, abdominal, & ob/gyn).

* Documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance, and educational theories and techniques.

* Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field.

Approval of this position dependent upon funding availability.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's degree or higher.
