The Directed Energy division is seeking a Senior Pulsed Power Engineer to play a pivotal role in the innovation and advancement of transformative technologies.

This position offers a unique chance to engage with state-of-the-art equipment in sophisticated laboratories, where you will witness your designs evolve into advanced pulsed power apparatus and high power microwave (HPM) systems.

Collaborating with a team of scientists, engineers, and technicians, the ideal candidate will experience the fulfillment of developing and evaluating groundbreaking technologies in both controlled laboratory and practical field environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and analyze innovative pulsed power devices and HPM systems, including components such as pulsars, trigger mechanisms, switches, field coils, non-linear transmission lines, HPM amplifiers, and antennas.
  • Execute comprehensive laboratory and field evaluations, including establishing testing objectives and timelines, creating testing protocols, conducting experiments, processing data, and interpreting findings.
  • Design and implement diagnostic and data acquisition systems essential for assessing device and system performance.

Essential Qualifications:


A Bachelor’s degree with 12 to 15 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 10 to 13 years of relevant experience is required. A Doctorate in a related technical field may also be considered.
Proven experience with pulsed power devices and HPM systems.
Proficiency in data capture and analysis software to assess and improve component and system efficiency.
Experience in conducting laboratory and field assessments of pulsed power technologies.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a laboratory setting with engineers, managers, and technical personnel. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current DoD secret or higher security clearance.

Compensation Information:


The pay range for this position is between $122,000 and $220,900. This range serves as a general guideline and does not guarantee specific compensation. Factors influencing the offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and internal equity.
