This position offers a unique chance to engage with state-of-the-art equipment in leading-edge laboratories, where you will witness the evolution of concepts into advanced pulsed power devices and high power microwave (HPM) systems.

Collaborating with a diverse team of scientists, engineers, and technicians, the ideal candidate will experience the fulfillment of designing and testing groundbreaking technologies in both laboratory and field environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and analyze innovative pulsed power devices and HPM systems, including but not limited to pulsars, trigger mechanisms, switches, field coils, non-linear transmission lines, HPM amplifiers, and antennas.
  • Conduct comprehensive laboratory and field evaluations, establishing testing objectives and timelines, creating testing protocols, executing tests, processing data, and interpreting outcomes.
  • Design and implement diagnostic and data acquisition systems essential for capturing device and system performance metrics.

Essential Qualifications:


A Bachelor’s degree with 12 to 15 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 10 to 13 years of applicable experience is required. A Doctorate in a related technical field may also be considered.
Proven experience with pulsed power devices and HPM systems.
Proficiency in utilizing data analysis software to assess and improve component and system functionality.
Experience in executing laboratory and field assessments of pulsed power devices and HPM systems.
Strong collaborative skills to work effectively in a laboratory setting with peers, management, and technical personnel. Eligibility for a DoD secret security clearance is necessary.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are essential.


Desirable Qualifications:

  • Possession of a current DoD secret or higher security clearance.

About the Team: The Directed Energy division comprises approximately 100 professionals, including scientists, engineers, technicians, drafters, fabricators, and support staff, with expertise in advanced physics, electrical and mechanical engineering, electromagnetics, lasers, and high-power microwave technologies.

For over three decades, this team has collaborated with government laboratories to push the boundaries of technology across various high-tech sectors and continues to do so on multiple initiatives.


Compensation Range:


The compensation range for this position is $122,000 to $220,900. This range serves as a general guideline and does not guarantee specific salary outcomes. Factors influencing compensation include job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and internal equity, as well as market alignment and applicable legal considerations.
