Job Overview:

As a Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in the management of our financial operations, ensuring compliance and accuracy in all accounting practices.

Management Responsibilities:

  • Establish and uphold a comprehensive system of recognized accounting policies and procedures.
  • Oversee outsourced accounting functions to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Evaluate the accounting department's operations and design an organizational structure that aligns with departmental goals.
  • Supervise the accounting activities of subsidiary companies, focusing on their control systems and transaction processes.

Transaction Management:

  • Guarantee timely payments of accounts payable.
  • Ensure all applicable discounts are utilized on accounts payable.
  • Facilitate prompt collection of accounts receivable.
  • Process payroll accurately and on time.
  • Complete periodic bank reconciliations without delay.
  • Ensure timely payments of required debts.
  • Maintain an organized chart of accounts.
  • Establish a systematic filing system for accounting records.
  • Implement controls over accounting transactions to maintain integrity.

Financial Reporting:

  • Produce timely and comprehensive financial statements.
  • Coordinate the creation of the corporate annual report.
  • Recommend performance benchmarks for company operations.
  • Calculate and disseminate financial and operational metrics.
  • Manage the preparation of the annual budget and forecasts.
  • Analyze variances from the budget and report significant findings to management.
  • Provide management cost reports for informed decision-making.
  • Conduct financial analyses for capital investments, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.

Compliance and Audit:

  • Facilitate the provision of information to external auditors for annual audits.
  • Monitor debt levels and ensure compliance with debt covenants.
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax obligations.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid customer service and collections expertise.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and commitment to high-quality outcomes.
  • Collaborative team player with a positive demeanor.

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required, with a CPA or MBA preferred. Candidates should possess over 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory roles, and have a thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP.
