The Division of Geriatric Medicine at Johns Hopkins University is in search of a Senior Program Coordinator for Research Initiatives. This position will operate under the guidance of the Research Program Manager and Principal Investigator, primarily concentrating on the execution of clinical research related to influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations in the elderly population. The Senior Program Coordinator will be responsible for orchestrating both programmatic and operational functions to guarantee the effective completion of research projects. This role entails direct interaction with older adult participants, physician researchers, and team members to create research tools and implement study protocols. Key responsibilities include securing informed consent, gathering data, monitoring patient clinical progress, and adhering to established study designs and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and/or Research Program Manager to outline study plans.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of assigned protocols and reporting obligations.
- Ensure compliance with all protocol requirements to uphold data integrity.
- Conduct regular meetings with team members to assess data accuracy and study advancement.
- Assist with regulatory tasks, including submissions and reporting to the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
- Design and develop protocol-specific reporting forms.
- Input patient data into relevant database systems.
- Organize recruitment activities and enroll participants in study protocols.
- Perform phlebotomy and other clinical tasks as necessary.
- Draft responses to audit findings.
- Carry out additional related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Strong organizational, efficiency, and time management skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Capability to work autonomously.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- A minimum of three years of related experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience utilizing Redcap.
- Phlebotomy certification or skills.
