Internship Overview

Blue Origin is a pioneering company in the space industry, and we're seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join our team. As an intern, you'll work directly with our experienced engineers in support of our business units, contributing to the development and fabrication of mechanical, propulsion, structural, fluid, and avionics systems.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the integration of design for manufacturing, test, operations, and materials & processes.
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement manufacturing solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of mechanical, propulsion, structural, fluid, and avionics systems.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship.
  • Completed at least one year of full-time coursework post high school graduation at the time of application.
  • Available to work full time for a minimum of 12 weeks while not concurrently enrolled in coursework.
  • Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for space exploration.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working in a product design or manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to GD&T (Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing).
  • DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) knowledge.
  • Relevant internship/co-op and academic project experience that demonstrate development of both technical skills relevant to the internship as well as leadership qualities.
  • Hands-on project experience.
  • Co-curricular engagement.
