About the Role:

The KPFF Special Projects Division is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineering student for a summer internship in our Seattle office. As a member of our team, you will assist a civil engineer with various tasks associated with project design, including calculations, plan production and review, and cost estimating.

Responsibilities will vary depending on the project and individual intern. Our work focuses on civil, design-build transportation, structural, industrial, and waterfront infrastructure throughout the US with a focus on the West Coast and Pacific Northwest regions.

We frequently function as prime consultants and are tasked with solving unusual, multi-discipline challenges that require an innovative and team-oriented approach.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist a civil engineer with project design tasks, including calculations, plan production and review, and cost estimating.
  • Participate in project site visits and navigate through jobsites while complying with all Company and Site safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with project team members and clients on a variety of projects.
  • Develop a general understanding of stormwater hydrology and hydraulics basics.
  • Gain experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Requirements:
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project team members and clients.
  • Detail-oriented and desire for continued learning.
  • Clear communication and writing skills.
