Position: HVAC Technician

Overview:

The HVAC Technician will be responsible for executing preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC systems. This role requires expertise in maintaining air conditioning units, air handling units, heat pumps, variable air volume systems, direct digital controls, and ventilation systems. The technician will conduct tests, rounds, and data analysis to ensure optimal equipment performance. Experience with chillers, boilers, and kitchen equipment is advantageous. Additional responsibilities include evaluating systems, providing recommendations, maintaining a clean workspace, and performing other tasks as directed by the Facility Maintenance Manager, all while adhering to safety and health regulations. The technician will travel to various customer sites, utilizing a company vehicle and tools to maintain commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform efficient maintenance on HVACR equipment according to established standards. Read and comprehend operational sequences, control schematics, blueprints, and service manuals to execute daily tasks effectively. Maintain, install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems while monitoring operations and recording performance data.
  • Keep accurate logs of equipment operations, maintenance manuals, and inventory of necessary parts. Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in safe working order and that work areas are kept clean. Order supplies as needed for preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and utilize personal protective equipment as mandated by OSHA. Be familiar with emergency equipment locations and safely use tools and instruments for maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Diagnose HVACR system issues and communicate findings promptly. Document all repairs and adjustments made, along with recommendations for future work. Ensure service reports are completed only after client satisfaction is confirmed.
  • Collaborate with other technicians on major repairs and maintenance tasks. Work closely with planners or supervisors to optimize preventative maintenance programs.
  • Participate in training sessions and seminars as assigned. Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time. Be available for on-call emergency work as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and a certified 2-year HVAC technical certificate or state-approved HVAC license.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working with industrial and commercial HVAC systems.
  • Possession of an EPA Universal Refrigeration License is required.
