Position: HVAC Technician

Role Overview:

The HVAC Technician will be responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC systems in a safe and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have experience with various HVAC components including air conditioning units, air handling units, heat pumps, variable air volume systems, direct digital controls, and ventilation systems. This role requires the technician to conduct tests, monitor performance, and analyze data to ensure optimal system functionality. Experience with chillers, boilers, and kitchen equipment maintenance is advantageous.

The technician will utilize a company vehicle and tools to travel to multiple customer sites for the maintenance of commercial properties. While the technician may service a single location for a period, daily travel is a requirement. Responsibilities also include maintaining tools and managing supply orders for installations and repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform efficient maintenance on HVACR equipment in accordance with established protocols. Interpret and comprehend operational sequences, control schematics, blueprints, and service manuals to execute daily tasks effectively. Maintain, install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems while monitoring operations and recording relevant data.
  • Keep accurate logs of equipment operations, maintenance manuals, inventory of filters and spare parts, and other necessary documentation. Ensure that service tools and equipment are maintained in a safe and functional condition, and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Adhere to safety practices and utilize personal protective equipment as mandated by OSHA regulations. Be familiar with emergency equipment locations and safely operate hand tools, power tools, and testing instruments.
  • Diagnose HVACR system issues and communicate findings promptly to relevant parties. Document all issues and resolutions in service reports, including recommendations for future maintenance.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and operators on major repairs and maintenance tasks. Work closely with the maintenance planner to optimize preventative maintenance scheduling.
  • Participate in training sessions and seminars as required. Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and on time, and communicate effectively to identify needs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma with a certified two-year HVAC technical certificate or state-approved HVAC license.
  • A minimum of five years of experience working with industrial and commercial HVAC systems.
  • Possession of an EPA Universal Refrigeration License is required.
