Job Summary

As a Security Operations Generalist at Ford Motor Company, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our manufacturing facilities. This position requires a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in law enforcement or military operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site support to the manufacturing team, assisting with security and fire operations, including staffing requirements, access control, CCTV monitoring, fire inspections, and emergency support.
  • Assist with special projects and security initiatives, including GAO audits, AON fire inspection audits, daily plant walks, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Oversee day-to-day security operations, including contract security personnel, and identify and escalate performance issues.
  • Ensure compliance with the MCRP for security and fire-related requirements and enforce Security and Fire manual, bulletins, and protocols to ensure compliance.
  • May perform the role of Incident Commander for emergencies and respond to emergency incidents, including medical, behavioral, fire, trespassing, accidents, suspicious activity, thefts, and other incidents as required.
  • Escalate incidents to the Supervisor and/or Regional Security Manager as necessary and enhance emergency response capabilities by utilizing incident response tools and deploying emergency response equipment.
  • Assist in coordinating security for VIP visits and assist with investigations, escalating to the Supervisor and/or Regional Security Manager and Global Investigations as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with People Matters, Human Resources, Labor Relations, and Safety representatives as necessary to discuss and resolve workplace issues.
  • Identify and escalate physical security gaps through proactive security initiatives and develop and maintain strong relationships with internal skill teams to ensure unified alignment with all security and fire-related matters.
  • Collaborate with appropriate internal Ford skill teams and external work partners to plan for and provide security coverage for special events as directed.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in law enforcement or military operations.
  • Highly motivated, hands-on, self-starter with ability to think creatively and operate in a dynamic, ambiguous environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and a high level of interpersonal skills (soft skills).
  • Ability to multi-task, strong problem-solving, conflict management skills, and outstanding interpersonal, team building, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities under changing conditions, exhibit calm, rational behavior under stressful conditions, administer duties and responsibilities with accuracy and attention to detail, show initiative and leadership, and be available to work 24x7, 365 days a year.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills, ability to navigate department technology platforms, and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Three (3) years supervisory experience, CPR/AED certification, knowledge of Global Security, site security and fire operations, and a working knowledge of emergency response levels.
