Job Summary

Advantage SCI is seeking a highly skilled Security Operations Specialist to support our Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating, developing, and implementing local SCIF Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Emergency Plans (EP), policies, and guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • SCIF Operations Management
    • Develop and implement local SCIF SOPs and EPs, policies, and guidance.
    • Conduct SCIF inspections, corrective action planning, and on-site support.
    • Process and issue Courier Orders and Aircraft Courier Authorizations.
  • Security Clearance and Access Management
    • Coordinate with stakeholders for SCIF accreditation/certification for classified IT.
    • Conduct Semi and Annual IDS testing and USM directed Security Review; Annual Self-Inspections, SOP/EP reviews and EP testing.
    • Institute/maintain access process to authorized SCIF users; maintain access control roster.
  • Visitor Control and Security
    • Execute visitor control functions to include security clearance verification.
    • Verify/validate clearances and accesses.
    • Investigate known or suspected security violations, incidents, and unauthorized disclosures.
  • SCIF Integrity and Security
    • Ensure SCIF integrity through alarm monitoring, management, and auditing of the access control system.
    • Receive/validate incoming clearances and accesses; pass clearances and SCI accesses; prepare Visit Authorization Request (VAR) and Permanent Certifications.
  • Training and Compliance
    • Administer the annual SCI and Derivative Classification Refresher training.
    • Coordinate/executing Co-Utilization Authorizations.
  • Alternate Information System Security Officer (AISSO)
    • Serve as the AISSO for designated SCIF space.
  • Industrial Security SCIFs
    • Servicing industrial security SCIFs in the National Capital Region.
  • Security Incident Response
    • Conduct preliminary inquiries for security incidents and perform the preliminary inquiry documentation and recommendations.
  • Security Support
    • Maintain access codes, spin-dial combinations, intrusion detection system codes and keys for SCI Facilities/doors.
    • Conduct onsite monitoring of security systems and respond as necessary to system failures/power outages to provide security support of the space.
  • Requirements
    • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance.
    • Must have experience/direct involvement/management with either new SCIF construction or renovation.
    • High school diploma.
    • Minimum Four (4) Years' experience as a Special Security Representative or similar position with duties as described above.
    • Experience handling customer service for a government organization or private corporation in an official capacity.
    • College education and management experience is desired, but not required.
    • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
    • Excellent written and oral reporting skills, interpersonal skills.
