Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at our Gaylord, Minnesota facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily operation of the Maintenance Department, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our production equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interface with Production Supervisors, leads, and operators to gather information on equipment performance and coordinate repairs, labor, and resources.
  • Provide requisitions for repair parts and schedule non-union labor for routine and overtime work.
  • Approve vacation and PPT requests and provide reviews of direct staff.
  • Supervise maintenance crew and oversee the operation of boiler and refrigeration equipment.
  • Troubleshoot problems with equipment and provide a safe work environment for employees.
  • Recognize and resolve operating problems to minimize their impact on operations.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records, including timecards, downtime records, and absentee records.
  • Enforce company policies in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Encourage suggestions from employees to improve production, quality, safety, and control costs.
  • Communicate relevant information to employees and management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Engineering or 3+ years of maintenance experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance management experience.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles preferred.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of basic mechanics, welding, electrical, fabrication, preventative maintenance, plant operations, government environmental and safety regulations.
  • Refrigerated foods processing and packaging.
  • Food safety and sanitation principles (GMP, SQF).
  • State and Federal rules and regulations (USDA, FDA, OSHA, etc.).
  • Knowledge of plant operations and production scheduling.
