About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Operations to join our team at Home Market Foods. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance staff, planning and scheduling, procurement, parts management, and maintenance projects for our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide technical leadership and guidance to our maintenance team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and productivity, while ensuring employee safety and product quality.
  • Project Management: Oversee maintenance projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution, to ensure timely completion and within budget.
  • Team Development: Mentor and develop a team of mechanics, coaching staff towards higher performance and providing opportunities for growth and development.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, environmental health and safety, and other departments to optimize plant productivity and safety measures.
  • Cost Management: Identify, plan, develop, and implement cost objectives to meet annual and long-term budgets.
  • Quality and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintain quality measures, preventive maintenance schedules, and performance standards.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: BS Degree in engineering or 10 years of related experience required.
  • Regulated Manufacturing Experience: Prior experience in regulated manufacturing (cGMP, FDA, USDA) and facility management required.
  • Leadership Experience: Significant past responsibility for the hiring and development of staff and team members required.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledgeable and experienced at leveraging vision systems, PLC's, robotics, automation, and advanced controls to drive consistent and reliable operations.
  • Language Skills: Strong verbal and written English skills required. Bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus.
