Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Secretary to join our team at Atkinson Andelson Loya Ruud & Romo. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our attorneys, preparing and revising legal documents, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Document Preparation: Prepare and revise legal documents, correspondence, memoranda, and e-mails from written form as well as from transcription.
  • Document Assembly: Assemble documents and exhibits for court filings and recordings, hearings, arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or other engagements.
  • Proofreading: Proofread prepared materials to ensure documents are free from typographical and grammatical errors and are formatted according to Firm standards.
  • Mail and Email Management: Read, sort, and print incoming mail, and e-mails, and distribute as appropriate.
  • Scheduling: Schedule appointments and meetings for attorneys.
  • Calendar Management: Manage and maintain calendar for deadlines; ensure important dates are recorded on the master calendar.
  • File Management: Maintain client files and chron files.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with utilizing computer and transcription equipment to produce legal documents, correspondence, memoranda, and e-mails, as well as other office equipment such as photocopier, fax machine, and postage meter.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma.
  • Experience: Prior litigation legal secretary experience.
  • Skills: Ability to type, read, and write in order to proofread and perform initial input and revisions to legal documents, correspondence, memoranda, and e-mail. Must have knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of document management systems such as IManage. Ability to type 70 wpm. Ability to organize and prioritize workflow for multiple attorneys. Interpersonal skills to communicate verbally, in writing, and by telephone in a professional manner with clients, attorneys, vendors, and staff. Ability to operate office equipment such as computer, transcription equipment, fax machine, and advanced functions on photocopiers.
Salary Range

$80k - $92k Annually
