About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties, including tasks such as cleaning, preparing work sites, and assisting with material handling.
  • Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision.
  • Take direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman and demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
  • Eliminate waste and inefficiencies in the work process, such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage, and time.
  • Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns to a supervisor before continuing with the work.
  • Learn and understand all safety protocols related to the work and take necessary precautions to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Learn to safely and effectively use or operate work-related tools and equipment.
  • Look for opportunities for improvement in all tasks, means, and methods regarding the work and be willing to learn from others.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all members of the crew and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
  • Produce high-quality work, safely and productively at all times.
  • Provide feedback to ensure all materials, tools, equipment, and information are available for the work.
Requirements
  • NCCER Core Curriculum and/or a High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • One year of experience (Level I), two years of experience (Level II), and three plus years of experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry is preferred.
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis.
  • May use electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors.
  • Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects on a frequent basis.
  • Will climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
  • Will lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
