About the Role

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Assistant to join our team in the Division of Soil & Water Conservation, Dam Safety, Floodplain Management, and Office of Resilience Planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the general financial operations of the division, including budget tracking, financial reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Assist with division budget development and budget data entry into FRS.
  • Provide administrative support for financial planning and analysis.
Requirements
  • Experience with accounting and budgeting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
  • Understanding of accounting standards (GAAP) and accounts payable and receivable.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using state financial databases and state procurement application (eVA).
