Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Budget Analyst to join our team at the School of Medicine. As a key member of our Clinical Research Office, you will play a critical role in supporting our clinical researchers in advancing medical science in our region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough coverage analyses to ensure accurate financial assessments of clinical study protocols
  • Develop and manage clinical trial budgets, working closely with senior clinical trial budget analysts
  • Submit contracts to the Division of Sponsored Programs for review and execution, ensuring timely and accurate processing
  • Assist with other assigned study start-up and ongoing financial activities for clinical trials, providing exceptional customer service and support
Requirements
  • Strong analytical, financial, organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Ability to set priorities, make timely decisions, and meet deadlines while working on multiple projects
  • Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a large and complex organization and in a diverse and fast-paced work environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in past experiences or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with clinical research protocols, developing and negotiating clinical trial budgets, creating/revising/implementing reports, tracking tools, professional documents, reading and interpreting complex contractual and budget terms
