Area Coordinator for Residential Life and Housing

Job Summary:
The Residence Life and Housing Office at Campbell University seeks a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as a Housing and Residence Life Program Manager. This is a full-time, live-in position that requires a Master's degree in a related field and 2-3 years of experience in residence life and university housing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative:
- Manage residential facilities and communities in collaboration with Facilities Management department.
- Coordinate Residence Life staff to plan and prepare for move-ins, move-outs, and other events.
- Develop and implement programs to educate students on housing assignments and policies.
- Represent the department at university events and recruitment initiatives.
- Staff Supervision and Development:
- Provide leadership, supervision, and development for Community Assistants.
- Assist with planning and leading staff training and development programs.
- Recruit, select, and evaluate Community Assistants.
- Residential Education:
- Develop and implement residential education programs to foster living and learning outside of the classroom.
- Provide leadership and support to residential education programming.
- Assess the needs of residents and provide guidance on the growth and development of Residential Learning Communities.
- Community Development and Support:
- Collaborate with hall staff to develop community and assist students.
- Provide crisis response and conflict resolution to community residents.
- Manage duty rotation schedule of hall staff to provide support for residents.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Support and promote departmental goals and initiatives.
- Manage assigned department projects and support departmental goals.
- Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in higher education administration, student personnel, social work, counseling, business, or related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in residence life and university housing.
- Experience in working with college students in a residential environment.
- Experience in staff supervision and community building.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Comprehensive computer skills, with the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology.
- Ability to apply student affairs knowledge and practices.
- Familiarity with housing management software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and standard methods of digital communication.
