About the Role

Tate, Inc., a leading provider of innovative raised access flooring and structural ceilings, is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist to join its team in Russell County, Virginia.

Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Specialist will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to ensure effective development, adoption, and execution of various quality programs/projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting product sourcing, purchasing, and selection as required by the design process;
  • Providing technical and engineering support for day-to-day processing and process improvements;
  • Confirming system and product compliance with audits and capability studies;
  • Assuring system and product quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product and system capabilities, and confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes;
  • Preparing product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends;
  • Participating in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, and designs;
  • Completing general QA projects to improve the quality of our products across the board;
  • Assisting in root cause analysis activities on claims;
  • Process SOP creation/maintenance where needed;
  • Maintaining record of completed production QA check sheets;
  • Identifying and helping facilitate the execution of approved dispositions for non-conforming material;
  • Maintaining on-site measurement devices (calibrate, track in gagetrak, etc).

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline, preferably in Engineering;
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in quality assurance or a related field;
  • Practical application experience of quality tools, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing methodologies;
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as ISO-9001;
  • Experience with root cause analysis;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc);
  • Prior experience with statistical analysis using tools like Minitab is a plus.

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on your qualifications and experience.
