Job Summary

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Marine Engineering Manager to lead our Chesapeake, VA operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing engineering and design products to support marine vessel design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct supervision of engineering and design staff, including assigning tasks and developing staff.
  • Hire staff to match business needs and collaborate with project managers to develop task labor estimates.
  • Quality control of team engineering and design products and develop work products as an individual contributor.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a secret level security clearance.
  • B.S. Degree or Post-High School Technical Trade School in marine engineering and/or design.
  • 5 years experience with B.S. Degree or 10 years experience with Trade School Training in marine engineering and/or design.
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical principles and practice, as well as demonstrated working knowledge of engineering and design software and tools.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills, as well as strong time management and organization skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior management experience and shipyard or boatyard experience.
  • Professional certificates of competency in applicable CAD software.
