Job Title: Marine Field Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Field Technician to join our team at Carter Machinery Company, Inc. in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Job Summary:

The Marine Field Technician will be responsible for diagnosing problems and performing standard mechanical repairs and complete overhauls on marine engines and propulsion systems. This role requires a strong mechanical background, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work with limited supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions on marine engines and propulsion systems
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on marine equipment
  • Work with limited supervision to complete tasks and meet deadlines
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of marine engine control systems and propulsion systems
  • Collaborate with other technicians and supervisors to ensure smooth operation of marine equipment
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of two years' experience in marine engine repair and diagnostics
  • Strong mechanical background and troubleshooting skills required
  • Excellent customer satisfaction skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in the use of a computer and Microsoft Office products
