About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Naval Architect II to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our marine engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions for a diverse range of vessels, from high-performance boats to commercial crafts.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed engineering calculations and provide technical expertise to support project managers in boat and vessel design.
- Collaborate closely with engineers to document and solve complex design challenges.
- Adhere to and improve our Engineering Standards and Procedures to ensure top-tier quality and efficiency.
- Provide onsite engineering services to US Navy Combatant Craft Division (Code 83) at Little Creek Amphibious Base.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in naval architecture or marine engineering.
- Strong knowledge of marine engineering principles, practices, and related technologies.
- Familiarity with industry standards (BS/RINA/LR/ISO/USCG/ABYC) and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD and Rhino.
- Strong skills in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
