Dental Assisting Instructor Position

Job Summary

Foothill De Anza Community College District is seeking a qualified part-time dental assisting instructor to join our team. As a faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching didactic and clinical courses in dental assisting, including four-handed chair-side technique, orthodontic procedures, dental materials, and dental health education.

Responsibilities
  • Teach and evaluate students in a variety of dental assisting courses, including didactic and clinical instruction.
  • Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students and the dental assisting program.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students.
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide activities, such as curriculum development and assessment.
  • Meet with students, colleagues, and administrators to discuss student progress and program issues.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in dental assisting or a related field.
  • Current certification in dental assisting (e.g. CDA, RDA).
  • Teaching experience in dental assisting or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time, non-tenure track position. The successful candidate will be required to work a variable schedule, including evenings and weekends. The position is located on the Foothill College campus in Los Altos Hills, California.
