Position Summary

The Senior Mechanical Engineer within our Project Engineering division will focus on the innovative design of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical systems tailored for a diverse range of Aerospace applications. This includes but is not limited to reusable launch vehicles, deep space exploration, military aviation, and hypersonic technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and ensure adherence to customer specifications and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate project success.
  • Document and communicate design assessments to relevant stakeholders.
  • Oversee the design and functionality of critical components and assemblies, ensuring alignment with customer requirements.
  • Conduct thorough design analyses, including stress and thermal evaluations.
  • Assist in the development of preliminary bills of materials and verify their accuracy.
  • Establish testing protocols and release technical drawings for development projects.
  • Maintain vigilance over customer-driven modifications and assess their impact on project timelines.
  • Provide engineering support to various departments and external partners involved in the project.
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Ensure the precision of all project documentation and drawings.
  • Manage non-conformance reports and participate in material review board activities.
  • Support project management in resource allocation and prioritization.
  • Adhere to project schedules and deliverables.
  • Facilitate technical reviews and incorporate feedback from stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • 3-10 years of relevant experience in a high-tech, electro-mechanical environment, particularly within Aerospace and Military sectors.
  • Knowledge of government procurement processes and quality standards.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction across various organizational levels.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Office, with experience in relevant engineering software.
  • Expertise in fluid control systems, structural analysis, and thermal dynamics.
  • Experience in product development, production, and maintenance practices.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Work Environment

  • This role requires adaptability to both office and manufacturing settings, necessitating appropriate safety measures.
  • Some travel may be required for project-related activities.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to see, speak, and hear.
  • Frequently required to reach, handle, and manipulate objects.
  • Must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 20 pounds.
