Job Title: Mechanical Staff Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Staff Engineer to join our team at L.J Gonzer Associates. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and production support of products in the Aerospace industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electromechanical actuators from scratch to meet customer requirements
  • Create and modify drawings with appropriate GD&T, documentation of change and efficacy
  • Design cost-effective and easily manufacturable hardware taking into account tolerance stack-ups, ease of assembly, and mechanical environment
  • Perform failure investigations of designs and create/review/approve processes for assembly, test, and related activities
  • Interface with internal and external customers to determine product changes needed for applications
  • Write technical documents for internal and external customers and participate in design reviews
  • Mentor and guide junior team members and support new business pursuits
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 8+ years' experience and technical knowledge in mechanical engineering design of hardware preferably in aerospace or defense industry
  • Experience designing and testing designs to Mil-Std-810 Environments or similar
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience solving technical problems using a methodical scientific approach
  • Experience in 3D modeling of mechanical components and assemblies, electromechanical actuation servo systems, and finite element analysis
  • Possess organizational and task management skills to work concurrent issues in parallel and leadership skills to interface with various other teams and disciplines
