A primary line of defense risk expert within the Risk Management Organization (RMO) Governance and Controls Office (GCO), tasked with the implementation and support of various risk initiatives, including but not limited to a comprehensive, high-quality Risk and Control Self-Assessment Program (RCSA).

Leverage risk knowledge to assist in the development and enhancement of second line risk initiatives in accordance with regulatory standards while managing the demands of executing program requirements effectively.

Engage in discussions with first, second, and third line risk leadership. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position requires in-office presence.

  • Implement and manage change and regulatory change risk, external events, data, model, third-party, and cyber risk in support of the designated business unit. Provide oversight and governance over issues management.
  • Influence and contribute to the development and enhancement of the firm's risk initiatives to align with regulatory standards.
  • Act as a subject matter authority for Operational Risk Management (ORM) and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) programs, providing constructive challenge as necessary to program updates and modifications. Participate in all relevant working groups for the risk initiatives.
  • Communicate, educate, and monitor compliance of business partners and GCO colleagues regarding changes in risk initiatives; offer guidance on effective execution, sharing best practices where applicable.
  • Serve as a liaison between the GCO, first line colleagues, and second line risk program owners/risk partners.
  • Deliver and advocate for recommendations for updates to pertinent policies and procedures for risk program execution.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with line of business leaders and second and third line risk partners.
  • Communicate and present materials in various leadership forums and committees.
  • Mentor colleagues within the risk execution team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related academic field, or equivalent education and relevant training or experience
  • Ten years of risk management experience in financial services or a related field
  • Comprehensive risk and regulatory knowledge with an emphasis on: Credit, Market, Liquidity, Compliance, Operational, Reputation, and Strategic Risks
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities
  • Ability to think critically and strategically, manage multiple tasks, and drive change
  • Robust quantitative, governance, and analytical skills
  • Ability to provide constructive challenge to senior leadership
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
  • Willingness to travel, occasionally overnight

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Finance or a related academic field
  • Ten years of risk management experience in financial services or a related field
  • Financial Risk Manager (FRM)/Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) or equivalent advanced risk certification
