We seek an individual who can assist in enhancing our second line of defense (2LOD) capabilities for the oversight of Group Risk Control (GRC) within the Combined US Operations (CUSO).

The CORC GRC, CUSO Officer plays a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining the 2LOD CUSO risk oversight function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and execution of quarterly Compliance Risk Assessments (CRA) monitoring controls to ensure compliance with essential regulations.
  • Participate in CUSO risk committees and forums to represent CORC GRC in fulfilling our review and challenge mandate.
  • Evaluate and challenge the operational risk appetite assessment outcomes of the Firm/Business Divisions/Group Functions and Significant Group Entities, along with Key Process Control Assessments and Risk Control Self Assessments related to Group Risk Control CUSO.
  • Assess and challenge any Non-Financial Risk events or control issues associated with Group Risk Control CUSO.
  • Review and challenge the comprehensive design and implementation of the CUSO control framework, including standards, governance, and procedures.
  • Conduct thematic reviews, deep-dives, and cross-reviews into emerging risks impacting GRC.
  • Assist in formulating new policies and procedures, as well as local implementation of new regulations and internal policies.

Salary Information:

New York: The salary range for this position is $164,000 to $211,000. The expected salary range is based on various factors, including experience, qualifications, education, location, and skill level. This role may also qualify for discretionary incentive compensation.

Team Overview: You will be part of the Global Compliance & Operational Risk Control team, focusing on Group Functions, particularly Group Risk Control, and will report to the Head of CORC GRC. This is a dynamic, driven, and diverse team of professionals responsible for managing the operational risks arising from UBS' business.

Your Expertise:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.

Your experience includes one or more of the following:

  • 5+ years in a risk control function covering primary risk management (e.g., as a credit, market, or treasury risk officer).
  • 5+ years in an operational risk role within wealth management, brokerage, retail, and/or private banking, supporting a risk control function addressing primary risks.
  • 5+ years at a regulatory agency or major consulting firm in a role focused on primary risk management.
  • An excellent understanding of controls, processes, and systems pertinent to risk control.
  • Exceptional communication and networking skills, essential for engaging with senior management across the business and other C&ORC functions, producing materials for governance committees, and managing a diverse range of stakeholders to deliver complex projects within agreed timelines.
