Job Title: Addiction Psychiatrist

At VHC Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Addiction Psychiatrist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will work collaboratively with other staff to provide comprehensive healthcare services to patients.

Purpose and Scope:

The Addiction Psychiatrist will be responsible for providing quality clinical care to patients with addiction and substance abuse disorders. This includes assessing patients, developing treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients with addiction and substance abuse disorders
  • Develop and implement treatment plans
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Document patient progress and treatment outcomes
Requirements:
  • Doctorate from an accredited medical school
  • One year of medical/surgical experience
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Virginia
Working Conditions:

The Addiction Psychiatrist will work in a well-lighted and ventilated office/clinical setting. The position requires frequent interruptions and may involve long hours, changing shifts, and overtime. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is necessary for instances of exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious processes.

Physical Requirements:

The Addiction Psychiatrist must possess physical capabilities to perform the essential functions of the job, including exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The position also requires the ability to cope with mental and emotional stress associated with the position.

Education:

A Doctorate from an accredited medical school is required. The Addiction Psychiatrist must also possess one year of medical/surgical experience and be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Virginia.

Certifications/Licensure:

Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Virginia is required.
