Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the guidance of the Facility Manager, the Facilities Maintenance Manager is tasked with assigning duties, monitoring progress, and ensuring the successful completion of maintenance tasks. This position encompasses a variety of skilled and semi-skilled activities associated with the construction and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment, while also keeping accurate records and adhering to relevant regulations.

SUPERVISION:

Receives oversight from the Facility Manager.

TEAM MANAGEMENT:

Oversees Maintenance Technicians II & I.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Duties:

  • Oversee and manage facility work orders to ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain and enhance the work order tracking system, including monitoring material costs and labor hours.
  • Assess and prioritize work orders to effectively allocate tasks and schedule assignments.
  • Collaborate with the Facility Manager to identify when external contracting is necessary.
  • Organize and maintain precise documentation for all maintenance activities, projects, and equipment.
  • Supervise staff in the execution of maintenance and construction projects.
  • Work alongside the Risk Management Supervisor to evaluate job quality and completion.
  • Coordinate and execute emergency repairs and maintenance, including after-hours responses.
  • Conduct performance assessments as required.
  • Assist in sourcing and procuring necessary goods and services for facility upkeep.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and conferences as necessary.
  • Ensure a safe and functional working environment.
  • Be available for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Proactively engage in recruiting eligible families for Partnership programs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in modern office practices, methods, and equipment, including computer systems.
  • Experience with software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.

  • Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills.
  • Attend meetings during evenings and weekends as necessary.

  • Interpret and apply various regulatory standards and guidelines.
  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks for equipment, furniture, fixtures, facilities, and grounds.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of experience in building construction or maintenance/repair.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience in building or construction/maintenance.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid driver's license and state automobile insurance with an acceptable driving record.
  • Completion of fingerprinting and record filing with the State Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing.
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is highly desirable.
  • Successful completion of physical examination, substance abuse screening, TB test, and required vaccinations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Primarily conducted indoors.
  • Noise levels range from quiet to moderately quiet.
  • Minimal hazards are expected.
