About the Role

MasTec Advanced Technologies is seeking a skilled Fiber Splicer to join our team. As a Fiber Splicer, you will play a critical role in creating and maintaining the local telecom infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce end-to-end fiber optic networks through installations, repairs, splicing, and integrations to new and existing infrastructure.
  • Operate all testing equipment and resolve challenges common to fiber optic networks.
  • Prep fiber splice enclosures and utilize fusion splicers, test equipment, and other specialized tools.
  • Apply fiber engineer knowledge of fiber design, reading documentation, and understanding of light levels and dB loss.
Requirements
  • At least 3-5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience.
  • Comfortable working on a ladder or bucket truck and able to lift 60-80 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a pre-employment assessment, drug test, and background check.
  • Flexible schedule with overtime and ability to work in all weather conditions.
