About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Fiber Technician I to join our team at Spectrum. As a Fiber Technician I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of our internet services to millions of customers nationwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Locate and repair fiber impairments in the field to maintain and improve Charter's fiber network.
  • Work primarily independently, examining existing fiber plant and connecting new builds for residential and enterprise customers.
  • Collaborate with team members and peer organizations to ensure seamless communication and support.
  • Utilize cutting-edge technology to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Industry and vendor-specific certifications and training (NCTI, SCTE, and BCT/E).
  • Completion of the following courses: NCTI - Fiber Installation and Activation and Fiber Testing and Maintenance and/or SCTE Maintenance Technology Level 2, Networking Testing and Maintenance Level 2, Optical Fiber Construction.
  • Maintenance tech or equivalent work experience of at least 1 year.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to work in inclement weather and climb poles using gaffs and climbing belts as infrequently.
