Regional Track Maintenance Specialist

As a Regional Track Maintenance Specialist at Strategic Workforce Development Inc., you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trains across North America. This position requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and involves conducting essential maintenance, repairs, and installations on tracks within your designated territory.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, contractors, and customers.
- Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations, operational guidelines, and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) requirements.
- Handle and transport track materials and equipment using appropriate load/unload devices.
- Perform regular maintenance on tracks, including repairing, installing, and removing components as needed.
- Maintain the track-bed, including tasks such as removing and replacing ballast, tamping ballast, and assisting with the unloading of ballast from ballast cars.
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently to drive spikes, tighten or loosen track bolts, and use pullers to remove spikes.
- Possess a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) of either Class A or Class B.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information to colleagues and supervisors.
- Exhibit experience in comprehending and following instructions, including but not limited to operating and safety rules, bulletins, special instructions, and federal regulatory documents.
- Physically demanding tasks, including occasional bending, stooping, and kneeling.
- Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 65 lbs, as well as pushing and pulling objects up to 119 lbs.
- Standing for extended periods during the workday, with the flexibility to change positions periodically for comfort.
- Walking and maintaining balance on uneven surfaces.
- Climbing ladders to access truck storage as necessary.
