Commercial Loan Operations Specialist

This role is responsible for managing commercial loan processing requests, utilizing extensive knowledge of commercial loan products, loan documents, and regulatory compliance. The Commercial Loan Operations Specialist maintains a solid working knowledge of commercial loan policy and procedures, providing high-quality customer service to internal team members and external commercial borrowers.
Key Responsibilities- Maintains and adheres to LGE Community Credit Union Loan Policy and Procedure
- Notifies Commercial Loan Officers of pending items needed to process file according to established policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines
- Provides high-quality service to internal team members and external commercial borrowers
- Pulls credit reports, flood certifications, and orders title work from attorneys
- Prepares loan documents for closings timely and ensures loan packages are complete prior to loan closings
- Reviews loan documents to ensure all necessary signatures are present and all documents have been returned, complete a loan documentation checklist, and book the loan to the Core system
- Books closed loans to the Core system
- Reviews the Core system for accuracy and completes a checklist (does not check loans they booked personally, all loan specialists check back for each other)
- Posts payments, draws, and principal reductions
- Processes loan payoffs
- Participation loan processing
- SBA loan processing
- Daily Loan General Ledger Balancing as assigned
- Performs approved maintenance to the loan record
- Monitors loans for accurate coding and servicing
- Processes paid loans and cancels any necessary recorded documentation
- Processes signed documents for recording in a timely manner
- Prepares loan packages for Imaging
- Ensures all documentation is properly imaged and stored correctly in the Synergy Imaging system
- Monitors and clears loan tracking and exceptions
- Maintains an orderly and secure loan file
- Customer Service - Delivers high-quality customer service to internal and external customers
- Teamwork - Balances team and individual responsibilities, welcomes feedback, contributes to building a positive team spirit
- Collaborates with others at all levels to ensure organizational goals are obtained
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Follows policies and procedures, completes administrative tasks correctly and on time, supports organization's goals and values
- May be asked to backup other positions in the department
- May be asked to be a part of various committees within the bank
- Maintains a reasonable knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering Policies and regulatory requirements that are specific to this position
- Knowledge of Lending Compliance
- Posts and submits the 1502 SBA report monthly. Works with Alterdomus on any SBA loan-related issues or processes
- Assists with training new employees on loan processing
- Updates and/or assists in any changes in the LaserPro Admin platform
- Updates and/or assists in any admin changes in the SilverLake LNPAR when needed
- Assists in core issues such as maintenance, billing corrections, and research
- Backs up for Real Estate, Flood Zone property tracking, and Adverse Action review
- Reviews daily reports in Synergy
- Ability and willingness to occasionally travel to other GCB, A Division of LGE locations to meet with lenders and/or transport timely documentation as needs arise
- Maintains familiarity with and follows all policies, procedures, and processes which have been established in order to meet compliance requirements of all applicable federal regulations. The regulations include but are not limited to the Privacy Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Reg CC, and Patriot Act
- Required: High school diploma
- Required: 3+ years Commercial Loan processing and operations experience within a Credit Union or Financial Institution
- Required: 3+ years experience with required commercial loan documentation and regulations
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Good organizational and time management skills required; ability to multi-task
- Strong judgmental & problem-solving skills required
- Must possess strong phone etiquette, computer, and typing skills
- Promote and maintain positive team relationships
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
