About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Operations Officer to lead our Facilities and Capital Planning team at Smith College. This role is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and administrative oversight for the Campus Operations departments, including Facilities Management, Dining Services, Events Management, and Campus Safety.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and analysis principles, with at least 7-10 years of progressive financial and administrative leadership experience in a higher education or similarly complex environment.

Estimated Salary: $140,000 - $170,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage long-term financial strategies aligned with institutional goals.
  • Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and accountability within the department.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in capital renewal and replacement planning.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.
