Patient Registration Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Registration Coordinator to join our team at North East Medical Services. In this role, you will be responsible for performing patient registration, sliding scale assessment, eligibility screening, program enrollment, and renewals. You will also act as an advocate for our clients by assessing their health and social needs and referring them to appropriate programs.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and determine patient eligibility for NEMS' sliding fee program, register clients, and inform them of our services.
- Assist members in selecting or changing their primary care physician (PCP) according to established guidelines.
- Update information and data in our electronic patient management system (EPM) as it occurs.
- Act as a point of contact for receiving complaints and assist with documenting and forwarding them for review.
- Assist with taking meeting minutes and notes.
- Identify, assist, and enroll patients for entitlement programs and update patient information for Family PACT, Cancer Detection Program, CHDP, BCCTP, Healthy Kids, and Healthy San Francisco.
- Provide one-on-one education on healthcare reform, explaining eligibility, qualification standards, policy, and procedure to prospective clients and members.
- Assist patients in resolving problems involving enrollment issues with Medi-Cal Covered CA insurance and other health coverage programs.
- Complete all required training programs and certifications, including maintaining an active Covered CA Certified Enrollment Counselor certification.
- Provide other enabling services such as letter interpreting and form filling.
- Stay up-to-date on eligibility and changes for all public programs.
- Must be detail-oriented, have strong time management and multi-tasking skills, and be able to work independently and in a group setting.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in computers.
- Completion of a four-year degree from an accredited university is highly preferred.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Must be verbally fluent in Spanish.
- The ability to speak another language or dialect is highly desirable.
