We are on the lookout for a Credit Manager to enhance our expanding Finance Team.

As a Credit Manager, your role will encompass establishing open terms and overseeing order hold releases. You will evaluate the creditworthiness of prospective clients, analyze current customer accounts, and optimize company sales while managing overall customer credit risk and exposure.

What will your daily contributions as a Credit Manager entail?

  • Evaluate requests for new account open terms and provide innovative credit solutions to facilitate sales.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to collect necessary information for assessing open terms or credit line increase requests.
  • Ensure that practices and procedures are in alignment with risk management and fraud control protocols.
  • Utilize the Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) platform for functionality, leveraging it to identify deteriorating account risk profiles and analyze the cost-benefit of D&B services versus alternative credit reporting platforms.
  • Assess and validate existing account credit risks by identifying risk factors and predictors of future performance.
  • Maintain and update sales tax exemption certificates to ensure compliance with state audit requirements.
  • Establish processes for auditing credit data information.
  • Participate in the Master Data Governance Board.
  • Assist in training related to credit and operations concerning profile and sales tax exemption requirements.
  • Monitor and revise companywide credit policies and internal controls.
  • Conduct regular audits of processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation to support training materials and serve as a reference resource.
  • Lead projects or tasks as assigned.
  • Collaborate with the National Credit Manager to enhance reporting and credit department practices.
  • Support initiatives aimed at optimizing Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
Leadership and Communication Skills:
  • Exhibit the ability to work collaboratively to set objectives, foster allegiance to those objectives, and guide and motivate their achievement.
  • Possess the ability to provide vision, leadership, and motivate others in pursuit of company goals, vision statement, and core values.
  • Demonstrate the ability to delegate responsibility and authority to maximize the utilization of employees' skills.
  • Effectively supervise employees, including mentoring, evaluating, and guiding staff to enhance skill levels, morale, and efficiency.
  • Possess strong, effective written and verbal communication skills.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, management, or finance required, or a combination of significant related experience and education deemed equivalent.
  • A minimum of 10 years of credit analysis experience with a robust understanding of unsecured credit management practices.
  • Experience with D&B administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Proficiency in SAP and the ability to learn internal databases and software systems.
  • Ability to motivate and lead others in the organization without direct reporting responsibilities.
  • Requires a blend of high energy, empathy, and emotional intelligence to motivate and persuade stakeholders.
  • Self-organization and a high degree of organizational skills are essential to manage multiple products and market segments across a broad geographical area.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and multifaceted environment.
