Job Title: Propulsion Systems Engineer Lead

Phantom Space Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Propulsion Systems Engineer Lead to join our team. As a key member of our propulsion team, you will be responsible for technical and project leadership pertaining to propulsion systems, fluid control systems or major subsystems on our launch vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, analysis, and optimization of rocket propulsion systems
  • Define requirements for propulsion systems, power systems, and vehicle fuel and tank systems
  • Develop specifications and architectural and configuration concepts for associated vehicle systems to meet regulatory requirements
  • Conduct configuration and design of propulsion sub-systems and components to meet all vehicle design and performance criteria
  • Lead the use of various testing, analysis, modeling, and simulation tools to estimate or calculate system performance
  • Provide the definition and performance of certification tests for propulsion sub-systems and components

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with Propulsion ground and flight test, analysis, integration, design, installation, and system support
  • Strong understanding of materials, mathematics, science, and potential safety and functionality problems and solutions
  • Excellent research, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, project management, and planning skills

ITAR Requirements:

This position requires compliance with U.S. Government space technology trade restrictions, specifically the International Trafficking in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and additional regulations governing satellite, launch vehicle, missile, and other related technologies. All jobs restricted by these regulations will be contingent upon the applicant's status as a documented U.S. Person or their ability to receive a trade license from the cognizant government agency; in addition to any required company background checks and in compliance with applicable U.S. laws.
