Senior Propulsion Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Engineer - Solid Propulsion to join our team at Raytheon Careers. As a key member of our Energetics and Propulsion Department, you will be responsible for the design and development of warhead and rocket motor systems, as well as the integration of propulsion systems into missile systems and space vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop warhead and rocket motor systems, including propulsion systems and safety devices
- Apply advanced technologies and scientific principles to the systems integration of propulsion, thrusters, controllers, software, mechanical and electrical interfaces
- Review manufacturing processes and problem resolution, and work directly with subcontractors on the design and manufacturing of solid rocket motor propulsion systems
- Manage propulsion system development projects and propulsion subcontracts, review and disposition subcontract data and change requests, and oversee supplier operations
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or related field
- 10+ years of experience in propulsion technology and its application to solid propulsion systems, or 7+ years with an advanced degree and related experience
- S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date
- MS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math, or related science degree
- 12+ years of directly related experience in propulsive technology and its application to solid or liquid, and/or mono propellant propulsion systems
- Project engineering skills and experience using Earned Value Management System
- Demonstrated success as a proposal/cost account manager as well as project/team leader
