About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Career Development Specialist to join our team at Open Sky Community Services. As a Career Development Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals with disabilities in achieving their employment goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with MassAbility and Department of Transitional Assistance to determine individuals' employment and/or educational goals.
  • Determine individuals' vocational readiness through the development of relevant skills, including completion of job applications, resume writing, and interview preparation.
  • Operate as a representative of Open Sky in meetings with funders related to work responsibilities and support for individuals served.
  • Assist individuals in accessing and obtaining information about their benefits, such as SSI, SSDI, and others, and help them understand how benefits may affect their employment.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, required. Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field, highly preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation, required.
  • Minimum of two years' experience working with individuals with disabilities (including behavioral health challenges), required.
  • Ability to work in an independent work environment with proven ability to manage time and tasks, required.
  • Ability to comfortably use technology for documentation and organization.
