Commercial Property Appraisal Specialist

Position Overview:
The Utah County Assessor's office plays a crucial role in the classification and valuation of properties within the county. This position involves overseeing the development and training of commercial appraisal trainees, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Chief Deputy County Assessor, the Commercial Appraisal Officer will:
- Coordinate and facilitate learning opportunities for commercial appraiser trainees.
- Organize and execute tasks related to Board of Equalization procedures, including defending property valuations and representing the county in various hearings.
Compensation:
The starting salary for this position is competitive, with a range based on experience and qualifications.
Job Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree is required.
2. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in appraisal work, including at least two (2) years as a Certified General Appraiser.
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
1. Certification as a Certified General Appraiser with the appropriate state department is mandatory.
2. Incumbents must obtain the General Ad Valorem Appraiser designation within twenty-four (24) months of employment.
3. A valid driver's license is required, with the necessity to obtain a state-specific license within sixty (60) days of employment.
4. Selected candidates will undergo a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
