Job Summary:

The Certified/Registered Medical Assistant will function autonomously and be responsible for coordinating the medical office and any Veteran/family activity including patient flow related to in-person visits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare for and deliver exceptional Veteran/patient handling and care during all interactions
  • Assist providers with checking veterans/patients into the clinic, scheduling, medical documentation retrieval and submitting all required medical documentation timely
  • Participate and contribute to all work activity and organized meetings, sharing point of view and recommendations
  • Support organization by practicing fiscal responsibility as well as maintaining compliance with policies and regulations
Requirements:
  • Active MA and phlebotomy Certification
  • More than 1 year experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with Interacting with the Veteran population preferred
  • Knowledgeable with managing provider workflow and scheduling
Preferred Skills:
  • Experienced in one or more major Electronic Health Records
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams)
  • Knowledge of EKG, ABI, Spirometry, and comfortable with phlebotomy
Work Environment:

Monday through Friday

No weekends

No holidays

Immunizations Required:
  • TB Screening (less than one year old)
  • Hep B Titers (less than 1 year old)
Immunizations Strongly Recommended:
  • COVID vaccination and boosters
  • MMR Titers (less than 1 year old)
  • Varicella Titers (less than 1 year old)
  • TDAP Immunization (less than 10 years old)
  • Flu Immunization (within current season)
