Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to fill the role of a Medical Assistant at 10 Monument Health Rapid City Hospital, Inc. This position involves preparing examination and treatment areas, completing patient rooming procedures, administering medications and immunizations, performing EKG's and laboratory testing, maintaining accurate patient records, and assisting with various administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare examination and treatment areas to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients
- Complete patient rooming procedures, including vital signs and data collection, to ensure accurate and timely patient information
- Administer medications and immunizations, as prescribed by healthcare professionals, to patients
- Perform EKG's and laboratory testing, as required, to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation in patient records, including medical history, test results, and treatment plans
- Assist with scheduling follow-up care and appointments, as needed
- Distribute patient education materials, as required, to promote patient understanding and compliance
- Function within defined scope of responsibilities, adhering to established policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned by healthcare professionals or management
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Certifications: Medical Assistant-Certified, Basic Life Support
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing
- LPN certification
- 1+ years of clinical experience
- 1+ years of healthcare experience
Physical Demands:
This position requires medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly. Possible exposure to bodily fluids.
