Production Manager

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the daily management of a fabrication or sub-assembly production area, including the management of SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost). The candidate will direct and support the hourly employees to achieve production targets and overall Company goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and Support Direct Reports: Direct, coach, and support all direct reports to ensure they have the necessary tools and resources to perform their duties effectively.
- Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis: Use the Problem Solving Process to identify the root cause of an issue and work with the team to implement a countermeasure to prevent future occurrences.
- Visual Management and Productivity Monitoring: Consistently use visual management to monitor day-to-day productivity on the floor and quickly identify potential issues that may disrupt flow.
- Production Objectives and Goals: Define and recommend production objectives through the development of short- and long-term goals.
- Equipment Installation and Maintenance: Supervise the installation and maintenance of all equipment used in manufacturing.
- Delivery and Quality: Ensure prompt, cost-effective, and on-time delivery of finished products to customers.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Coordinate and collaborate with other departments to ensure top-quality and service is provided to customers.
- Standard Manufacturing Practices: Formulate and instill standard manufacturing practices based on comparative studies of methods, costs, and production figures.
- Employee Records and Union Agreement: Keep accurate and timely records on all employees and programs for their department, and comprehend and execute the Union agreement.
- Safety Regulations and Programs: Enforce safety regulations and promote all safety programs.
- Education: A High School Diploma
- Experience: 2-3 years of Supervisory experience, preferably in an Aerospace Manufacturing environment
- Desirable Skills: Experience in a collective bargaining environment and with lean manufacturing
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills
- Planning and Organizational Skills: Exceptional planning and organizational skills
- Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Manufacturing Skills: Metal Forming (Shear, Punch, Brake Press, Bending), Metal Fitting (Alignment, Welding), Metal Machining (CNC), Composite Fabrication, Bellows forming, Sub-assembly Test (Dye Pen, X-Ray, Water), and Other (Oven-Bake, Autoclave, Insulation)
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Leadership: Ability to oversee, monitor, and lead employees to ensure goals are met successfully.
