Sourcing Manager, Transportation and Logistics

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Sourcing Manager, Transportation and Logistics to join our team at Alcon. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies to optimize costs, ensure quality, and enhance service levels across North American markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage category plans for transportation and distribution, identifying opportunities for cost savings, service improvement, and risk mitigation.
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for various transportation modes (e.g., truckload, less-than-truckload, rail, ocean, and air freight) and distribution (warehouse services, capital equipment, supplies, etc.), including the development of RFPs, supplier selection, and contract award processes.
  • Negotiate contracts with transportation and distribution service providers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions, cost savings, and service level agreements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, monitoring performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Use data analytics skills to evaluate opportunities, identify trends, and support decision-making processes.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including supply chain, finance, and operations teams, to align procurement strategies with business needs.
  • Stay informed of market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes affecting supply chain and logistics.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience
