Job Overview

Pacifica Senior Living Hillsborough is seeking a skilled Kitchen Assistant to join our team.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to assist our kitchen staff in meal preparation and ingredient management. The ideal candidate will have experience in volume-batch cooking and be familiar with safe food handling practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing meals and ingredients, including washing, chopping, and sorting fruits, vegetables, and meats
  • Measure and prepare seasonings and other cooking ingredients according to recipes
  • Parboil food, reduce sauces, and perform initial steps in various dishes
  • Adhere to all relevant nutrition and sanitary regulations and standards
  • Maintain accurate records of ingredient inventory and collaborate with kitchen and management staff to order supplies
Requirements and Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent; culinary school diploma an advantage
  • Experience in volume-batch cooking and knowledge of safe food handling practices
  • Excellent physical condition and stamina required
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
Work Schedule
  • Part-time schedule: 20 hours per week
  • Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (5 hours per shift)
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $43,000 - $50,000, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
