About the Role

Cocoon House is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Counselor to join our team at our Transitional Living Program in Everett. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for teens in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build Strong Relationships: Establish and maintain positive relationships with youth, staff, and community partners.
  • Provide Support and Guidance: Offer guidance and support to youth in achieving their goals and developing life skills.
  • Ensure Safety and Well-being: Maintain a safe and healthy environment for youth, including supervising and monitoring their activities.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with case managers, other counselors, and support staff to ensure comprehensive care and support for youth.
  • Document and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of youth progress, including intake and exit processes.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, and at least 6 months of experience working with youth.
  • Background Clearance: DCYF background clearance required.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to effectively communicate, lift up to 50 lbs, and run up and down stairs in case of emergency.
