Your Role:
As a Healthcare Access Coordinator, you play a crucial administrative role in the healthcare system. Your responsibilities include initiating patient scheduling and check-in processes, as well as obtaining and verifying essential demographic information for the patient's permanent medical record while ensuring confidentiality is maintained.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Greet patients, guests, and family members both in person and over the phone, assisting them in scheduling appointments with the appropriate provider and location.
2. Analyze patient information to create or update accounts for all patients seeking services, including walk-ins and emergency cases.
3. Accurately register patients by entering demographic, financial, and insurance details, while correcting any errors.
4. Facilitate bed placements, reservations, transfers, and discharges as requested by clinical staff.
5. Assist patients in understanding their financial responsibilities, setting up payment plans, and completing financial assistance applications.
6. Ensure the registration and admissions process is completed thoroughly, gathering all necessary documentation and signatures.
7. Perform insurance verifications to confirm active coverage and communicate with insurance companies regarding admissions.
8. Provide directions to various departments and services within the facility.
9. Schedule and reschedule patient appointments, educating them about available options.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience.
